Dreamlike territories
Dreamlike territories by Benoît Theunissen is a collection that merges the real world with surreal dreamscapes. Grounded in the principle of photographic wandering, Benoît draws inspiration from the landscapes he encounters during his walks and travels to unique locations.
Through the technique of composite photography, these scenes are reinterpreted in a dreamlike language, weaving together improbable elements, psychosocial archetypes, and sometimes subtle distortions of reality.
Across the collection, familiar landscapes are reimagined with dreamlike atmospheres, blending the ordinary with the fantastical. Skies crackle with surreal energy, while natural elements such as trees, animals, and mountains intermingle with symbols of human ingenuity and myth.
The worlds Benoît creates are rich with narrative, inviting the viewer to step into a space where the unconscious mind plays and reality is both stretched and reshaped. The collection evokes a sense of boundless exploration, where imagination opens the way to new possibilities.
